So, it would be recommended to only use the unit with USB 2.0 ports on your computer. The USB port on the UMC404HD is a USB 2.0 port. I contacted Behringer technical support and got a somewhat disappointing answer. Spent half-an-hour swapping around devices, putting the 404 back on the same USB 3 port where audio stuff was working great yesterday. So I got the MIDI part to work after moving to a USB 2 port. I wasn't having any trouble with the UMC404HD when using a USB 3 port, and while the MIDI I/O was not essential to me I was really curious it (and besides, IT'S SUPPOSED TO WORK).
